The Mayor of the National District, David Collado, inaugurated a photo exhibit hosted at the Town Hall and Parque Colón of the Olde City, rendering tribute to the national Olympic athletes. The exhibit is composed of photos taken from the book “GLORIES: Going for the Gold” and the Corporate Agenda “The Inclusion Games,”edited by INICIA on occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Dominican Olympic Committee.
“We want all tourists and residents visiting our Olde City to learn about our sports glories, which have made our nation proud and honorably defend their country in each of the competitions for which they proudly represent the country,” said Collado during the opening address that formally inaugurated the exhibit. Present at the opening were Sports Minister Danilo Díaz, the chairman of the Dominican Olympic Committee, Luisín Mejía, and the Managing Partner of INICA and Chairman of CRESO, Felipe Vicini.
Vicini says “Thank you”
In his words, Vicini emphasized the arduous efforts made by the firm he chairs through CRESO. “This program, founded over 5 years ago, invests directly in the academic and sports development of 78 athletes. We have triumphantly participated in two Olympic Games: London 2012 and Rio 2016, and we are already working towards giving it our all and setting sights for Tokyo 2020,” expressed Vicini.
CRESO is a non-profit organization that consists of the Dominican business community that invests in the development of a high-performance olympic athletic platform, accompanied by academic training of the athletes. VICINI, together with the Dominican Olympic Committee, is responsible for creating CRESO and achieving the involvement of 9 other leading companies that also invest in this program.
